Evaluating the opportunity for the development of non-dairy powders

Providing additional benefits to support a healthy lifestyle through functional foods, has driven New Zealand’s non-dairy industry to seek opportunities through new technologies. The New Zealand Food Innovation Network have published a report evaluating the opportunity of developing non-dairy powders.  The report has focused on three fundamental areas, Raw Materials within New Zealand, Technology Stretch and Commercial Opportunities.  Export growth through high quality natural ingredient such as, fruit, vegetables, seafood, honey and blood proteins, is largely un-tapped at scale, particularly for by-products. This report has taken a systematic approach to the unstructured and anecdotal feedback around the need for non-dairy drying capabilities.
