Time: 9am – 11am
Location: NZ Food Innovation Auckland Ltd (The FoodBowl)
This practical, commercially focused workshop is aimed at all businesses, including startups and SMEs, who are planning to launch a new F&B product domestically or for export.
From this workshop you will gain an improved understanding of the IP assets of greatest value that should be considered when developing any new product or packaging.
By embracing IP opportunities, you will not only increase your competitive advantage and resilience to competitive threats, but also the overall value of your business itself.
The topics to be covered include:
- Types of IP rights (registered vs unregistered)
- Registered rights most relevant to F&B: trademarks, designs
- Unregistered rights most relevant to F&B: trademarks, copyright, ‘get-up’
- Planning for success: what IP assets, when, where and how you can protect them
- Use of AI imagery on packaging and in F&B marketing: pros and cons
This will be an engaging workshop where you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and where the legal speak will be kept to a bare minimum!
Hosted by The FoodBowl, Presenter Ben Cain is a partner at James & Wells IP and has over 30 years of sales, marketing, design and legal experience to give you real practical insights and information on what you need to know to successfully create and protect new IP assets.
