Sustainable Packaging Workshop - SOLD OUT

Event Date: 29 Nov 2019
  • Is your company faced with having to meet sustainable packaging targets for a more circular economy by 2025?
  • · Do you want to start off on the right foot when creating packaging for your new products?
  • Are you confused about the options for ‘more sustainable’ packaging than what you’re currently using?

This workshop is to help those developing new products from scratch, through to established FMCG brands in need of packaging renovations.

Leading the workshop will be Nikki Withington from Square One Ltd (www.sq1.nz).  After graduating with a degree in Materials & Process Engineering, Nikki has had 15+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in Trade Organisations, Packaging Manufacturing & Food Manufacturing, here in New Zealand and abroad.  Nikki is now helping many companies to help reach their sustainable development goals through freelance assistance as and when needed.  With a technical mind, a passion for marketing, an eye for design & a green heart; Nikki can provide practical and cost-efficient ideas to kick-start or re kick-start your brands into packaging that creates less of an environmental footprint.

This is the first workshop of its kind through the Food Innovation Network, and has been driven after much feedback from users and enquiries through the FoodBowl.  Now is the time to be having discussions like this.

Attendees will:

  • Understand some of the complexities around End of Life options for packaging here in NZ and overseas.
  • Cut through some confusion around what the terms ‘compostable’, ‘degradable’, ‘bio-degradable’, etc. actually mean.
  • Be provided with ideas to implement practical changes, mainly through design & material selection.
  • Consider ways to communicate suitable disposal recommendations on pack.
  • Have a chance to discuss any specific challenges should you wish to bring examples.

Suitable for:

Brand Managers, Marketers, Product & Packaging Technologists, and those in Sustainability guiding roles.
