A helping hand to Flavour House

Helping New Zealand F&B businesses to grow is a prime role of the NZ Food Innovation Network. This help takes many forms ranging from infrastructure to aid new product development through to running workshops. Another key part is connecting firms to capable service providers. For example, over the past five years FoodSouth have been collaborating with Flavour House a Christchurch based contract manufacturer. The collaboration has seen FoodSouth Staff visit Flavour House to gain an appreciation of their capability and on-going dialogue in support of specific inquiries. It’s very synergistic as FoodSouth fields many inquiries from industry and some just need to be connected to the right skills and capabilities. As a result, over the years FoodSouth have referred a number of firms to Flavour House and some of these are now important clients of theirs.

Grant Titheridge, Managing Director of Flavour House comments. “Flavour House are a specialist, high value, contract manufacturer. We have grown our business through referrals and assisting our existing clients to develop and grow. We have a close relationship with FoodSouth and they have referred a number of potential clients to us, this has helped us grow our business by nearly 100% over the last few years.”

John Morgan, Chief Executive of FoodSouth noted. “Flavour House have excellent product development and packing skills covering a wide range of food products such as jams, beverages, marinades, sauces and fruit preparations. They are skilled operators and can scale up production to support sales growth. Introducing firms such as Cedrus (Honey Propolis) and Artemis (Thyme Tonic) to Flavour House has been good for both businesses.”
